Meet Your Teacher

Jen has been teaching yoga for 4 years, since completing her 350hr teacher training with the International School of Dru Yoga. She is also a certified Calm and Relax Coach, holds a degree in Philosophy, a Level 5 CIPD qualification in People Practice, and has worked in Learning and Development for 3 years.

She is a mum of one, and lives in Brentwood, in leafy South Essex. Aside from teaching yoga classes and workshops, she works in the policy team for a human rights charity. She is passionate about social justice, equality and is a Philosophy nerd!

“Although having a healthy body is important, I always place mental health higher and the one non-negotiable thing I do every day is wake up an hour before everyone else to read! It helps set the tone for the day, allowing me to focus on something other than work and to-do lists! It makes me a calmer and happier person, hones my ability to concentrate, and makes me a better parent as I’ve got my ‘me-time’ out of the way early so can then focus on other people for the rest of the day!”

Ray of Sunshine Yoga is dedicated to fostering accessibility and inclusivity in wellness. Rooted in the Essex community, I offer diverse yoga styles such as Dru, Yin, and Yoga Nidra, alongside personalised coaching. My mission is to empower every individual to cultivate balance, peace, and vitality through tailored practices and supportive guidance.

Yoga Classes for All Levels

Jen leads weekly classes, which combine yoga with mindfulness, breathwork and deep relaxation. The classes are 1 hour 15 minutes, allowing for 15-25 minutes of guided relaxation or Yoga Nidra at the end of class. This is an important feature of the classes, as during Savasana the body absorbs the benefits of the class and allows the process of healing to take place.

Monthly Mini Retreats

Go on a personal journey through self-development exercises, mindful movement and stretching, breathing, and deep sensory relaxation sound baths.

We’ll work together in a supportive and collaborative coaching environment to support you in navigating life’s challenges with poise and tranquillity. I believe that we all have the capability to access a profound sense of well-being that resides within, waiting to be revealed. With the right practices and insights, you have the power to stay calm in the face of adversity and change.
